About New Church of Concord |
The New Church of Concord is a New Church congregation and offers worship services, programs and activities for all ages. We are part of a worldwide community of dedicated Christians devoted to the study of spiritual truth and its application in our daily lives. Our congregation moved from Sudbury to Concord in 2007 and we now offer services and programs in the beautiful and historic church facility at 53 Church Street in West Concord. The New Church teaches that there is one God who we know as the Lord God Jesus Christ. We believe that God created the universe and everything in it with an ultimately loving purpose. His desire is to be spiritually and eternally joined with each person in an angelic heaven where He can make us forever happy. But this journey requires that we each choose, of our own free will, to acknowledge one God and to live a life in accordance with the Ten Commandments. New Church teachings, which cover this and many other topics, are based on the Old and New Testaments as illuminated in the theological writings of Emanuel Swedenborg - an eighteenth century theologian and scientist who was called to reveal the detailed, comprehensive and ultimately practical explanation of the Bible's internal meaning.
